An innovative design tailored for swedish needs during the cold war, but useless for other countries. They look cool though.

Defense is more important than offens ! I think it is wery good tank for defense. Good job Sweden, greatings from Latvia !

Some of these tanks were converted into minesweepers... When Sweden were ready for a new tank, we had 4 options:Getting the Abraham m1a1, the challenger, the Leopard 2 and starting our own project, called tank 2000 or something, that would far outclass any tank in use today. This was however too expensive, so we went for the leo 2.

Very inovative design IMO. The idea of ONE guy using it too is a definant plus, decreases casualties. In defense i think these would be matched by no other save modern MBTs. Put it in a dug in and you have yourself a nasty defense |
