But I think that he could also be the first ;)

I would say that Samson François also belongs to the seconds.

I have played the piano for many years and after hearing about 40-50 recordings from top pianists of this piece the verdict for me is that Pollini far surpasses them in musicianship. Especially noteworthy - the pedalling, the speed but accuracy, the left hand balance, etc...Close seconds are richter, berezovsky, ashkenazy.Cortot's rendition is a joke - he makes many mistakes during the arpeggios.

Though this is a good rendition, I prefer Cortot and Backhaus; the former for his intellectual integrity, and the latter for his fire.

LMAO @ RICHARD KASTLE!!!!!!!!!!!LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!This is why you're a no-name, trying to come out of the area of utter failure and grasp at the feet of the masters you criticize, who have already reached sublimity and have surpassed perfection itself. You are an unintellectual moron, and comments like this show that you are a miserable failure and that you have failed at music, and are now failing at achieving peace of mind. What's next in the lineup? Erectile-Disfunction? |
