no it does NOT have a pitch processor in it. It has a guitar tuner in it. That means that your guitar has to be tuned to the unit so that the "math" is set for any vocal harmonies you may use. If your guitar is tuned then the harmonies come out PERFECTLY.

I have this unit. I am a solo female artist. Yes and no to your quesiton. You can use it without "strumming" the guitar BUT you have to have the chord placed on the guitar so the unit knows the "math" for that key and the theory. The harmonies are dependant on the input of the guitar. Just a single vocal will NOT tell the unit what key you're in, so you'll get minors or majors etc when you dont want them. For unison it's great but 299.00 is a lot when you can get a stomp box for so much less.

Thanks for the video! This looks like a good tool for solo performers like myself. I wonder if it can still be used if you don't play a guitar? I just want to fatten my vocals which I sing with backing tracks.

it's cool but it feels like cheating... and I wouldn't find it a very creative way to work...it sounds artificial, I wouldn't get one of them... I'd prefer a not-so-perfect harmonization with band mates rather than fake replications of my voice... |
