The name of that Argentine pianist who lost the use of one hand (so tragic), and who was a masterful bach player, is Carlos Martins...check out Martins' wtc...after hearing Martins, you know what Chopin probably sounded like when he played his beloved bach on the piano

He ruins the sarabande... too many clipped phrasings...he should play it more lyrically, like the way he plays the theme to the Goldberg variations..I get the feeling alot of people commenting about gould have not heard other bach interpreters like hewitt or that argentine dude who lost the use of his hand

I agree with u.And @I get no emotion from this@ - personally I GET emotion of aesthetics and beauty. Seems bachs music touch not emotion but more deep basics of human nature. We have perfect world here - why we nee more like emotions? |
